August 2024: Charitable Donation Recipients
The Charitable Donation Committee met in August and voted to give funds to the following organizations and events.
At Adams Keegan, we believe in giving back to those around us. Our Charitable Donation Committee, comprising staff members nominated as "Employee of the Year" in our quarterly TEAM Awards, plays a pivotal role in this endeavor. They review and assess donation requests from both internal employees and external entities, ensuring that our contributions make a meaningful impact. We are delighted to announce the recipients of our charitable funding for the third quarter of 2024.
United Housing is dedicated to providing quality housing for Mid-South residents. Through financial coaching, mortgage lending, home building and renovation, and partnerships with public, private, and nonprofit entities, they work tirelessly to ensure housing stability and affordable homeownership in the region. Their annual Halloween-themed fundraiser, Fright at the Brewery, is set to take place on October 24 at Wiseacre Brewing Company. The event aims to raise $30,000 for the Build Bold Fund, directly supporting their mission.
The West Cancer Foundation is committed to breaking down barriers to cancer care and improving patient outcomes through accessible resources, early detection, education, and community-based research. On September 7, the foundation will host the 12th annual West Fight On race to raise essential funds for free cancer services in the area, including mammograms, transportation, prostheses, and wigs.
Friends Life Community offers adults with developmental disabilities opportunities for personal growth, social development, and community engagement. The annual Backyard BBQ and Bluegrass Bash, scheduled for August 24, is crucial for the organization's budget. It enables them to supply a range of programs at affordable costs and provides sponsorships to individuals in the Nashville area.
Project Green Fork’s yearly event Reharvest Memphis focuses on sustainability and reducing food waste. Local chefs will showcase their culinary talents by creating hors d'oeuvres from surplus food, highlighting the importance of green practices. This event not only supports local restaurants but also promotes an environmentally conscious community. Attendees will enjoy an evening of culinary innovation while learning about ways to minimize their ecological footprint.
The Memphis Child Advocacy Center (CAC)’s mission is driven by helping children who are victims of sexual and physical abuse. Through prevention, education, and intervention, the CAC offers essential services to these vulnerable children. On October 17, they will hold their 35th Annual Gala, an event that funds critical programs aimed at helping child abuse victims find safety, healing, and justice.
Adams Keegan is proud to support these inspiring organizations and their initiatives. By contributing to these causes, we continue to uphold our commitment to making a positive difference in the communities we serve.
